Supposedly eating sweats early in the day makes you eat less throughout the day. Here's to cupcakes for breakfast!

The Tough Ones In Life
Today we learned that our cat, Chuck has FIV. FIV is an immunodeficiency disease must like HIV in humans. I've been struggling all day how to handle it. I think I've decided to help Chuck live what remains of his life in a very fun, loving environment. Now, hopefully my children won't torture him too much!

A new beginning
I'm embarking on a new journey of saving money! My goal is to use deals, coupons and whatever it takes to help save some cash. Today, I used started fresh by using a Groupon to order this year's Christmas Cards. What do you think?

"Tomorrow"
Today at work I got a message from Miss Kim, the very fantastic daycare provider who takes care of Colm on Monday's and Friday's. Her message to me was that Mr. Colm was having a hard time going potty on the potty today. When asked, he would respond , "not right now". Later in the day, she asked him again. This time he responded "how about tomorrow?!"
Seems like someone doesn't want to stop playing long enough to go potty on the potty.

Future Olympian?
Since the Olympics began, we have let Colm stay up a little past his normal bedtime to watch some "special sports". It makes him feel special and he has especially taken to speed skating, skiing and snowboarding. (He's not so interested in figure skating.) The other day, I came home from judging a gymnastics meet and I find him running in circles around the house with him bent over at the waist with one arm tucked behind his back. What was he doing, you might ask??? Speed skating, of course!
Later that night, he proceeded to show me how he can jump and turn in the air and do a "double woo". A "double woo" is of course something you see everyday in the snowboard half pipe!
Or what about the time he ran down the hallway stopped abruptly, bent his knees and best over at the waist. After a very brief moment (like everything moment is for Colm), he yells out "woosh" and jumps. Can you pick the sport? Ski Jumping!
If I find rocks in my kitchen when I get home tomorrow, I'll know they've been watching curling!

Going to Work
On Wednesday, we had one of those rare moments where we were stranded. Grandma Donna had jury duty, Grandma Pat was in Florida and Miss Kim was very sick. Now what??!!! Well, we got kinda lucky. Colm had his three year medical check up that morning. By the time that was done, we only had a couple hours to kill before lunch time. So, I did what any self-respecting mom would do if you had to go to work! I packed a bag of toys and took him with me!
At one point during our two hour stay at my office, Colm was sitting next to me in my office chair (I was using one that didn't fit at my desk, but oh well). He was watching a DVD on his portable player, had his pen and notebook on one side of it and he proceeded to do "work". Then he saw a piece of legislation on my desk. He asked if that's the kind of laws I work work on. Yep, it was. So he asked that it be put on the other side of his portable DVD player. After a couple of thoughtful moments "studying" the legislation, he looked at me and said:
"Mommy, is this the Mason suckie law? Because if it is, I still think it's silly!"
